I met him in a hotel bar in Belfast, he was with Group of locals on a charity golf bash. Bought me a pint, he'd just got the Oldham job. Also chatted with him at Beckenham trading ground when he was Palace Manager, my boy was in their Academy.

Between March 1996 and January 1998 he scored twice in a League Cup tie v Forest, an o.g vs Stockport County and ZERO League goals.

The young winger at Sunderland , Whatmore(?) , got an honours degree in economics and business a few months ago and think he was one of a handful of Premiership players to have a degree they were saying.
